Wow, the comment section is a mess of spam. But enough about that. I’ve downloaded all the items in question – they are all free and I see no reason any of them would be dangerous, but a particular issue I have is the fact that the interface used in the video is much more organized than the one I’ve got, and the one I have doesn’t do anything to the audio.

Well thanks a lot! (Just kidding) I just tried it on mine and ended up with the same problem! I eventually figured it out. Open the voice memo app and tap the word 'Done' beside the big red button; it will then ask you to name it (you can just leave it 'New Recording'). Once you've completed that, it will be in a list with an 'Edit' at the top left which you can then use to delete it.

I think the confusing thing (at least for me) is that I originally interpreted the word 'Done' as a label for the red pause button.
